My Trip to Odiorne Point

On Thursday June 17, 2021, my grade and me went to Ordiorne State Park. We stared the day by heading to school and checking into our first block classes to make sure everyone was there. Then we all went outside in a group and got on the busses. Some people rode with their parents and other payed a 12 fee to ride the bus. The ride to Ordiorne was about an hour and a half. People that rode with their parents arrived about 10-15 minutes earlier then the two busses full of their classmates. The busses arrived around 10:00 am, and all of us headed the tide pools right near the drowned forest. We all picked a table and put down our lunches.

Right away people started heading down the rocks to the tide pools to find some sea critters. So I took my friend and we all headed down to the tidepools. At first the rocks were dry and easy to walk on, but the farther we went down, the more slippery and unstable the rocks got.There was also snales all over the rocks, like everywhere you stepped. Soon we could barley see the rocks, they were all covered in seaweed. Finally we got down to the water but we were welcomed with the shock of really cold water and a slippery floor. It wasn't long untill we started spotting things like baby lobsters, crabs, sea urchins, and all sorts of small but very cool things. We all brought plastic baggies so that we could pick up and observe these creatures while doing the least amount of damage to these critters. My friends and I went deeper in but only for a little bit because there were huge amounts of seaweed and the water was super cold. After a while my teacher found a sea urchin, and it was covered in colorfull creatures and seaweed from all over the ocean floor. Then a classmate of mine found a crab, but it was pregnant. You could see all of her eggs around her, they were yellow and small. After awhile of showing the crab off, they put the crab back down right were they picked it up. A few minutes after that me and my friend headed back up the rocks because as much fun as it is to see all those critters, most of us were wearing sacraficial sneakers. So once we got back up to the picnic tables we headed back up to the other side to join most of the class.

Once I got there the water was a little passed my knees and me and my friend wasnt finding anything so we headed back up. On the way up I fell on a couple rocks, it didnt hurt but its not very fun. In the impecable timing that I have, we made it just in time for lunch to start. I ate some nice snacks that I asked for like goldfish, a ginger ale, and some fruit. Then I met up with some of my other freinds, and we hung out and talked untill 1:25, where we all started paacking up and getting ready to get on the bus. Once everyone was on the bus and I was in my mom's car, we drove to this ice cream place called Jordans Ice Cream. The school planned to stop there and even called ahead to let the ice creanm place know ahead of time. I got there a little before the buss, so I got my ice cream and my mom got some food and we sat down with another classmate and their mom (because they also got there early). By the time I was half way done with my ice cream the bus arrived and everyone got off and ordered. Everyone got a kiddie because they sell supper big portions at Jordons, like a kiddie is as big as a softball. After me and my mom finished, we said our goodbyes and took our leave. And that was the end of a great day and feildtrip.
